We are closing
After 10 years making our authentic Irish career costumes we have taken the very difficult decision to close. Actually, it wasn’t a very difficult decision, it is just one we did not want to make.
2025 was a tough year with the worst fabric shortages we have ever experienced. We couldn’t make our Garda Síochána uniform, Firefighter uniform or Scrubs, all our top sellers, for the busiest season of the year September – December. We had a major breakthrough in December when we found a new fabric supplier with cotton twill that is absolutely perfect for our little uniforms. 2026 was off to a great start with sales up 40% on 2025.
We knew it was going to be a challenging year to get back on track, but supplier issues raised its head again and we simply do not have the cash reserves (nor the will) to overcome it all this time. Sometimes things just don’t work out, and luck is not on your side.
I am not sad that we are closing, I am proud of what we have achieved. We have made a lot of children very happy. We have stayed true to our principles, helping children learn all about their community and how the world works while making hardwearing, authentic costumes that last for years. We have filled dress-up rails in schools and preschools, dress-up corners and boxes up and down the country and we have seen our costumes passed on to siblings, cousins, friends and even donated through our donation list initiative. I have met several little ones on duty in our uniforms in the supermarket and out directing traffic. We have supported charities, we have helped children in some pretty dark times, and we are honoured to have been part of Christmas mornings and birthday celebrations for thousands of children over the years. I am pretty sure we have dressed a few future gardai, firefighters, doctors and even zookeepers along the way.
I am just sorry that we won’t be around to see them grow up.
We have decided to go out on a high and have one last production run happening over the coming weeks. If you would like to stock up, size up, gift, expand your collection, or even order for the first time, now is the time. We will be making as many little uniforms as our little team can over the next few weeks and we hope to leave a legacy of happy little chefs, pilots, builders, postmen, postwomen, and doctors for years to come. To avail of some savings, have a look at our little bundles, we have tried to create an many options as possible. If you have a gift card please use it. If you know someone who would hate to miss out on this opportunity please let them know about us.
Thank you to all our wonderful customers, supporters, colleagues and friends we have met along the way.
