The Post Office

The Post Office

No matter what time of year it is children love a trip to the Post Office. There is nothing quite like the excitement of sending and receiving post. The responsibility of packaging, delivering and sorting mail is a role children will love. An integral part of our community, the post Office is a hub of activity; applying for a passport, lodging money, paying a bill, they can all be done in the post office. It is not just all about parcels.

Our large format “I am a….”poster is designed to introduce the vocabulary around the theme of The Post Office where children can discuss the theme. Character Traits flash-cards can be added to the poster to encourage children to think about and identify the behaviours that they expect from a postal worker. The “I use..” flash-cards help to introduce some new vocabulary; and the blank cards can be used to scribe the roles and responsibilities that the children consider part of the post office.
